INSTRUCTION IN CASE OF EMERGENCY

SHIROKO STORIA HOTEL is designed based on regulations with the guests' safety as the first priority.
In addition, all the employees have been trained for fires and earthquakes.
In case of an emergency, your cooperation is absolutely necessary for your and other guests' safety.
During an emergency, please bear the following points in mind and follow the instructions from hotel staff.

When you arrive at the hotel

When you enter your room, confirm the routes to at least two emergency exits on the evacuation route map located on the inner side of the guest room door.

In case of fire

If you see a fire, call or inform the front desk where it is.
For a fire that occurs inside the hotel, the fire alarm rings to notify the guests of the fire.
Act according to the hotel emergency announcement and the following instructions.

  • 1. Firstly calm down and then put out a fire such as a cigarette.
  • 2. Go out from the emergency door and go down the stairs in an orderly fashion.
    At this time, act calmly without running down in hurry.Do not use the elevator.
  • 3. Be sure to bring your room key with you.If you are covered by smoke, make your posture in a low position as much as possible to evacuate to the nearest emergency exit or go back to your room and follow the instruction of the staff.
  • 4. Do not return to your room to pick up your belongings.

When waiting for rescue in the guest room

Bear the following points in mind if all the emergency exists are in dangerous states and you have no way but to wait in the room.

  • 1. Inform the front desk staff of your room number.
  • 2. Fill the bath tub with water and wet your clothes, towels and sheets to prevent fire.
  • 3. Turn off air conditioning so that smoke does not come in the guest room.Seal up the door with wet towels and sheets.
  • 4. Keep in mind that a rescue team is working to help you and act calmly.

In case of earthquake

There is no hotel announcement if the earthquake is not strong.
Check the following notes for possible large-scale earthquake occurrence.

  • 1. Put out cigarettes or other fires immediately.
  • 2. Do not come near the window because the glass may be broken.
  • 3. Do not use the elevator during evacuation.
  • 4. Move to the nearest safe place (for example, under a desk) and protect your head to prevent injuries from falling furniture and objects.
  • 5. Open up the room door for the evacuation route.
  • 6. Listen to the hotel announcement carefully and follow it to take action.
